remiership Football again sees Avram Grant slip through the trap door? Sure, being a premiership Football manager is no easy task but can one man be held solely responsible, or should others share the blame?
The Hammers were relegated to the Championship after losing 3-2 at Wigan and Grant has instantly paid the price after his side squandered a 2-0 first-half lead en route to the Football League. Football management is no longer about tactics, fitness levels and squad availability - it's mutes in suits, WAG's, exasperated wages and owners with no idea about this great game donning football scarfs - the game has gone mad!
Behind the scenes, muppets are controlling the puppets, in this case Avram, bless him. Were the board right to sack him? Yes, only 6 months earlier would have given the Irons fighting chance. Were they wrong to appoint him in the beginning, damn right they were. He is too nice a chap, by that I also mean he lacks charisma, passion and heart. And please, just what had he done that warranted the job in the first place?
West ham fans are a passionate bunch, don't show that it hurts and they will bring you down, give them some blood and sweat and you will remain close to their hearts forever. What did Billy Bonds accomplish in the hot seat? Nothing, do the fans still love him, they would die for him... Paolo Di Canio, Carlos Tevez, Julian Dicks - West Ham legends!!. It is also why Glen Roeder was dragged through the gutter and why Upson is about to.... They don't give two hoots, at least that's what their demeanor portrays. Personally I think Zola should have been given more time - he cared, he was a footballing genius and a damn nice guy with it. Alex Ferguson was given time and look how that turned out.
West Ham fans need a break, a manager that jumps up and down, shouts at his failing side, kicks every goal. Can't believe that McLaren, another yes man is being pitched for the job. A fighter, a bruiser a blokes bloke, don't you get it!! The Brady bunch will need to get this right if they're to get the fans back on side and to have any chance of bouncing back to the elite that is 'Premiership football'!
So who's fault is it? It's the mindless board for employing him in the first place. If I was offered the job, I'd take it, don't mean I can do it though. Would you ask your window cleaner to decorate your lounge? Then why do business men and women appoint football managers, stick to balancing the books, horses for courses. Let the ex pro's and coaches get the short list together, then have them interview candidates and find their man. Only then should the Brady bunch step in to discuss terms and discuss his budget.
Still blowing bubbles.......? I think not :-( http://www.kidssoccerinfo.com
